1. Sensō-ji
Asakusa · start here · 60–90 minutes
Walk this order. Kaminarimon lantern → Nakamise shops → Hozomon Gate → incense burner and Main Hall → Five-Storey Pagoda → Asakusa Shrine on the right. Early morning is quieter.
2. Tokyo Skytree
From stop 1 · 15 min walk or Tobu Skytree Line 1 stop
Book the Tembo Deck. Solamachi mall at the base, then lift to 350 m. Galleria is the extra 450 m loop. Sunset slots sell first.
3. Ueno Park
From stop 2 · Tokyo Metro Hanzomon to Oshiage then Ginza Line to Ueno · ~25 min
Walk this order. Saigo Takamori statue → Shinobazu Pond → Kiyomizu Kannon-do → Toshogu gold shrine → Fountain Plaza → Tokyo National Museum front. Museums are extra time.
4. Akihabara
From stop 3 · JR Yamanote 1 stop south · 5 min
Walk this order. Electric Town Exit → Radio Kaikan → under the tracks → Chuo-dori neon → Mandarake Complex → Suehirocho side streets. Night is the look you came for.
5. Imperial Palace East Gardens
From stop 4 · JR to Tokyo Station then 10 min walk · ~20 min
Free, closed Mondays and Fridays. Otemon gate → Hyakunin-bansho → Ninomaru Garden → Fujimi-yagura → Tenshudai keep base → Hirakawamon. Last entry mid-afternoon.
6. Ginza
From stop 5 · 15 min walk or Ginza Line 1 stop
Walk this order. Tokyo Station Marunouchi facade → Gyoko-dori → KITTE → Marunouchi Naka-dori → Ginza 4-chome crossing → Chuo-dori.
7. Shibuya Crossing
From stop 6 · Ginza Line to Shibuya · ~20 min
Walk this order. Hachiko statue → scramble crossing → Magnet screens → Center-gai → 109 → Scramble Square. Shibuya Sky is a timed ticket above Scramble Square.
8. Meiji Jingū
From stop 7 · 15 min walk through Yoyogi or JR Yamanote 1 stop to Harajuku
Walk this order. South torii from Harajuku → sake-barrel wall → temizuya → main shrine → inner garden → north exit. After the forest: Harajuku Station exit → Takeshita entrance → mid Takeshita → Takeshita east end → Cat Street → Omotesando.
9. Shinjuku
From stop 8 · JR Yamanote Harajuku to Shinjuku · 5 min
Split the day. West Exit then Tocho observatory while it is light (free). After dark: Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho gate, neon streets, Golden Gai. Gyoen garden is ticketed and closed Mondays.
10. teamLab Planets
From stop 9 · JR to Toyosu then 10 min walk · last stop · book timed tickets
teamLab Planets in Toyosu is a barefoot walk-through of water, light and flowers. It is not next to Shinjuku — treat it as a booked evening or a separate half-day, like Versailles on the Paris page.
Book first. Timed tickets sell out. Official site only. Closed some Tuesdays — check before you go.
Get there. Yurakucho Line to Toyosu, then follow signs toward Urban Dock LaLaport. Allow 35–45 minutes from Shinjuku.
Walk this order. Water plaza → floating light crystals → moss garden → flower garden. Wear shorts you can roll. Lockers at the door.
